Boreal Awards 2008

Celebrating People, Places & Wild Spaces

The Boreal Awards recognize leadership, innovation, cooperation and excellence among stakeholders who live and work in Canada’s Boreal region and also recognize those who have made an outstanding contribution to protection of the Boreal Forest and the advancement of the principles outlined in the Boreal Forest Conservation Framework.

Nominations

The nomination deadline is now closed. Thank you very much to all who submitted nominations.

Criteria for the “Best of the Boreal” awards shall include:


• Demonstration of active concern for the Boreal;
• Demonstration of consistent responsible practices;
• Demonstration of determination and commitment in advancing conservation values;
• Demonstration of innovation.

All Boreal parties, including, but not limited to, governments, First Nations, industry, communities and non-government organizations, are eligible for the Boreal Awards.

All nominees and recipients will be celebrated at a gala event, to be held on November 5, 2008 at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.
